It is very powerful for your team to win both ends of the start, which allows you to protect both sides of the race course.

Vendee Globe 2008 - An All-Ticket Affair

The premiere singlehanded event is shaping up to be the 2008 Vendée Globe, the non-stop race in Open 60’s that begins and ends in Les Sables d’Olonne, France. The thirty places planned in the race notice have now been filled for the start on November 9th. An exceptional line-up, an unprecedented competitive level, this edition of the race deserves all the superlatives.

San Diego skipper gives Coast Guard’s new Rescue 21 emergency system real-world testing. San Diego Vessel Assist towboat operator Robert Butler spends a great deal of time traveling along the nation’s coastline, seeking out gaps in VHF radio coverage. His mission, more or less, is to find out-of-the-way, hard-to-reach areas where VHF radio communications are typically poor, and utter the words, “Can you hear me now?”
